Small Tribute

Small Tribute is a favorite OTP song of my dad's. So much so, that one time I removed my vocal track from the mix and let my dad sing a version of the song. He says he likes mine better.

Usually this is the song that ends my set. Chris Fleming, whenever he's around, comes down to play his great trumpet part at the end of the song (which he improvised during recording).

I’ve seen a lot of my feet

I’d get all caught up in the little things,

like a barbed wire fence made up
of all the stupid shit in my mind.

but the latter just sounds more right.
No matter what I think though

or if you’d rather

never staying in the same mood long.
But with my arms wrapped around your necks
I can play my favorite songs,
and we can all sing along;
and together our hands will keep our hearts strong.
